Supermoto Outing Has Indy Offer Chomping At The Bit For WorldSSP300 Season Opener
Indy Offer began his on-track preparations for the 2020 FIM Supersport 300 World Championship in style at the weekend, competing in the opening round of the RFME Spanish Supermoto series.
Having been invited to compete for the Supermotoland Husqvarna squad, Indy rode competently throughout the event, improving in every session to qualify just outside of the top ten. Unfortunately, the #18 was involved in a lap one incident that saw him taken out of contention. The failure to finish couldn’t dampen the young British riders’ enthusiasm for Supermoto, vowing to continue riding in the two-wheel discipline when possible.
Indy will now join his Scuderia Maranga team at the MotorLand Aragon circuit near Alcaniz later this week – finally re-uniting with the Kawasaki that he will campaign in WorldSSP.
“The weekend was one of the best racing experiences I have ever had. It was so much fun and so enjoyable, and I cannot thank the Supermotoland Husqvarna team enough. They are so professional and everything I asked for they gave me. I was involved in an eight rider pile up but walked away unhurt and ‘that’s racing’ as they say. There was nothing I could do and so yes on one hand I am disappointed as I think we could have finished in the top ten but the main reason we entered was to get some additional track time before Jerez at the end of the month. I am staying in Spain and heading to Aragon which is another new track for me. I’m looking forward to seeing my Scuderia Maranga team again and to spending a couple of days on my Kawasaki before the World Championship season starts in a few weeks. Thanks again to everyone who made the Supermoto event possible and to everyone that is supporting me this year.”
