Massive Misano Progress For Indy Offer
Indy Offer produced one of the best races of his young international career in the latest round of the 2021 FIM Superbike World Championship at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy, another new venue for the British teenager.
Quickly learning the iconic Italian circuit after two strong Free Practice sessions on Friday, Indy improved his personal best lap time in the Superpole session to claim his best ever World Championship grid position, going on to finish inside the Top 30 in the opening fifteen lap encounter despite running off track on the opening lap after a gutsy and determined ride.
Buoyed by his race pace, coupled with the numerous overtakes he made Indy was confident for Race 2 on Sunday but an unfortunate spill in morning Warm-Up left him unable to race after the WorldSSP300 medical team declared him unfit. He is now focused on his racing return at the Cathedral of Speed – the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands in July.
“I was in really good spirits after Saturday’s opening race, where I was able to finish in the top thirty for the first time and close the gap to the front by quite a margin but sadly I had quite a fast crash in morning warm up which meant that I was unable to race. I hit my head and although nothing is broken, and the team did a great job to rebuild the bike sadly I was declared unfit. It’s annoying as I was making such good progress this weekend and I am sure that we could have finished even better than we did on Saturday, especially when you see what happened in Race 2 but that’s racing. It’s a long season and there are many races to come, and I am feeling good about putting in a strong showing at Assen.”
