Indy Offer Begins 2022 WorldSSP300 Campaign In Spain

 In News

Two world championship race finishes were the reward for Indy Offer’s efforts in the opening round of the 2022 FIM Supersport World Championship at MotorLand Aragon in Spain.

Consistently improving throughout the two-day test held at the circuit prior to the event, Indy went into the weekend feeling good after lapping the 3.3-mile circuit faster than he had in qualifying twelve months ago.

A crash in front of him on the opening lap of Race 1 on Saturday resulted in a lonely first race of the season whilst a mistake on Sunday meant an equally lonely race on Sunday. He finished twenty fourth and twenty second respectively.

The next round of the championship takes place in the Netherlands at the TT Circuit Assen in a fortnight.

Indy Offer:
“I went into the race with a good feeling and was hoping to stay with the group from the minute the lights went out but unfortunately there was a crash at the first corner, and I had to take avoiding action. I was quite annoyed and frustrated but that’s racing. Nevertheless, I finished the race and was able to get more data which is important at this early stage of the season. I made a better start but then I made a mistake and lost the group and that was the end of my race. It was a difficult race, but the team are great, and I must take the positives – I went faster than last year and as a team we are going in the right direction. I am also really enjoying being back on a Yamaha. It’s a steep learning curve, but I know what I have to do, and I am confident that we will get the results that we all want soon. Let’s see what we can do at Assen in two weeks!”
